2017-18 Greater Melbourne LiDAR Project
project:
cep01-2017-18_melbourne_lidar
The Greater Melbourne LiDAR project provides elevation data for over 12,000 km² across the Greater Melbourne region of southern
Victoria. Data was captured between November 2017 and October 2018, at a nominal density of eight outgoing laser pulses per
square metre with 30% overlap in swaths.
In addition to LiDAR point clouds, a set of seamless products were produced including 1m digital terrain models (DTM), 1m
difference DTM (using 2009 data as the base) and 0.5m contours. The LiDAR data and derived products are intended to support
site investigations, flood mapping and vegetation mapping along with a range of other purposes
