Vicmap Imagery represents a suite of statewide satellite image mosaic products. This dataset is a Statewide Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM+) mosaic for the summer of 1999/2000. It has been produced by resampling the 30m pixel resolution - Satellite Image Colour Mosaic (30 metre pixel) - Vicmap Imagery (TM7-2000VI30). Vicmap Image TM7-2000VI300 has a spatial resolution of 300 metres and a nominal usage scale of 1:500,000 or smaller. It provides a representation of tree cover, agricultural land use, the extent of urban area, and water resources in Victoria.

Purpose
Vicmap Imagery TM7-2000VI300 will be useful as a backdrop for many data visualisation purposes including map production, spatial and thematic interrogation of vector datasets and in presentation and demonstration material. It will be useable at scales of 1:500, 000 and smaller. Additionally, VicMap Imagery TM7-2000VI300 can be used for visual interpretation of land cover features. Vicmap Imagery TM7-2000VI300 will not be applicable for digital classification purposes, as the digital values have been modified for visual appeal. For any such requirements, the raw component imagery should be used.
