- Dataset Source: The ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society developed a database - the National Catchment and Stream Environment Database version 1.1.1 - containing additional environmental attributes to the Bureau of Meteorology's Australian Hydrological Geofabric. This database includes river attribution indicating where water storage of significant volume resides on a waterway which has been identified as BARRIERUP. Based on this information, DEPI assigned river reaches as modified and unmodified. Using BOM's GEOFABRIC river datasets, river perenniality was assigned to each modified or unmodified river reach. and was assigned. A perennial river is described by the BOM as a waterway that normally contains water, except in unusually dry periods, and a non-perennial river as a waterway that occasionally contains water, particularly during the wet season.
