This LiDAR survey was undertaken as part of a larger DTV LiDAR capture project in operation between 2022 and 2024. The DTV LiDAR Project comprises of almost 60 separate LiDAR survey blocks totaling over 60,000 square kilometres within Victoria. The project was managed by the Coordinated Imagery Program on behalf of the Digital Twin Victoria (DTV) program, a four-year $37.4 million State Government investment designed to fast track the adoption of new geospatial data and emerging technologies. When completed, the LiDAR capture project will have achieved coverage of over 99 percent of the population and 95 per cent of the buildings in the Victoria. The primary use of the data is the creation of a ‘bare earth’ digital elevation model (DEM) that will underpin the DTV geospatial data platform. Numerous other important secondary uses will also benefit from the data collected such as river health monitoring, vegetation analysis and heritage cultural mapping.

Energy use profiles support effective planning and targeting of energy saving and decarbonising energy supply programs and community engagement. The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) has developed energy consumption profiles for Victorian Local Government Areas. This tool transforms postcode-level source data provided by the Victorian energy distributors into consumption profiles across the municipality. It provides a profile of energy use by SLA for households across the municipality. Year to year comparisons can show changing patterns of energy use for households and on a per capita and per household basis. The tool also has the capacity to incorporate Commercial and Industrial energy use and trends over time.

This Coordinated Imagery Program (CIP) project represents the continuation of previous Melbourne Multi-Epoch capture projects, delivering 10 cm GSD 3-band RGB aerial photography capture over the Greater Melbourne area across three epochs: Spring 2021, Summer- Early Autumn 2021/22 and Late Autumn-Early Winter 2022.

The Port Fairy Local Coastal Hazard Assessment (LCHA) provides information on the extent of coastal hazards and their physical impacts for the Port Fairy coastal environment. This data identifies areas which feature rocky cliffs in the coastal zone requiring further specific geotechnical investigation.
