  • TUP for years 2022-2025/26. TUPs incorporate all commercial timber harvesting activities, (not domestic firewood) and minor produce operations where tree felling is required, associated access roading, and significant stand management operations (including thinning, reforestation and treatment of unmerchantable trees) managed or undertaken by VicForests. Note - This is seperate to timber harvesting undertaken in accordance with the Allocation Order 2013 (amended in 2014 & 2019) and Timber Release Plan.

  • This is one of a series of restricted layers that identifies the nesting areas for threatened Egret species and records areas where breeding was confirmed and also identifies areas where breeding may have occurred in the past. Where breeding has occurred the year and month where available are listed. The site name is also given where known.

  • This is a derived dataset that delineates the current Bioregional Conservation Status of EVCs within the modeled 1750 EVC dataset. The dataset is derived from a combination of both Victorian bioregions (VBIOREG100) and the modeled 1750 EVC dataset (NV1750_EVC), with an assigned conservation status on the basis of unique Bioregion EVC units. The dataset underpins the implementation of Victoria's Native Vegetation Management Framework, and the preparation of Regional Vegetation Plans in addition to other biodiversity planning. The dataset requires upgrading when either of the two input datasets change. Note erratum under Data Quality-Completeness-Classification

  • This layer identifies areas mapped as rainforest communities across Victoria. It involved a combination of modelling, using Sentinel satellite composites, species distribution modelling and interpretation and interpretation of high resolution extent of Rainforest across Victoria, excluding the Strzelecki Ranges. Within the Strzelecki Ranges, extent and type have been modelled but these outputs are yet to be confirmedand checked against high resolution aerial photography. The layer identifies five classes of rainforest community: 1. Cool Temperate Rainforest 2. Dry Rainforest 3. Gallery Rainforest 4. Littoral Rainforest 5. Warm Termperate Rainforest

  • This layer summarises VBA fauna records against a standard grid of 1 degree longitude/latitude (GDA94). Any VBA taxa record with its centre in a cell is counted as a record for that cell. The number of times a taxon has been recorded in a cell is collated in the RECORDS column. The first date and last date that a taxon has been recorded in a cell are also summarised. VBA data summarised against 10 and 5 minute grids are also available in related datasets. VBA records with a spatial accuracy worse than +/- 1 km are excluded from this layer.

  • The STATE-WIDE OLD GROWTH SURVEY GRID and STATE-WIDE OLD GROWTH SURVEY GRID CENTROIDS dataset were developed to assist the verification of the presence or absence of old growth forest in Victoria. The STATE-WIDE OLD GROWTH SURVEY GRID dataset is a 1-hectare square grid which has been created in ArcGIS pro 2.3. STATE-WIDE OLD GROWTH SURVEY GRID CENTROID is the centre of each 1-hectare grid cell. The extent of this data is aligned with the Modelled Old Growth (MOG) dataset and 400m buffered. For further information on old-growth verification please refer to the Procedure for Identifying Old Growth Forest in Victoria.

  • This layer summarises VBA flora records against a standard grid of 10 degrees longitude/latitude (GDA94). Any VBA taxa record with its centre in a cell is counted as a record for that cell. The number of times a taxon has been recorded in a cell is collated in the RECORDS column. The first date and last date that a taxon has been recorded in a cell are also summarised. VBA data summarised against 5 and 1 minute grids are also available in related datasets. VBA records with a spatial accuracy worse than +/- 9 km are excluded from this layer.

  • The proposed layer for East Gippsland's modelled old-growth forest derived from both vector and grid based analysis using disturbance data that post dates the source old-growth analyses. Areas delineated as old growth forest are identified to meet the Victorian definition of old-growth forest based on a set of modelling criteria, rules and input datasets. The data is not reliable at scales less than 1:100,000 (ie 1:25,000), not all old-growth polygons have been confirmed by field checking and the reliability of the modelled linework has not been verified.
