  • Dataset containing recreational boating facilities including pier/jetty, boat ramp, marina, yacht club/motor boat club, multipurpose/safe haven each providing different services and functions. The features have been ranked by a hierachy delineated from Local, District and Regional and led to the development of the Boating Services Level Index (BSLI). The dataset was created for the recreational boating facilities framework document in Febuary 2014 and the Central Coastal Board (CCB).

  • 20m resolution bathymetry and 5m contour intervals derived from 20m resolution bathymetry for nearshore Victorian Coast, LiDAR-derived bathymetry plus small area of multibeam-derived bathymetry on Westernport Bay. This dataset covers the Victorian coast, generally extending to the 20m depth contour. This dataset is based on information acquired between November 2008 and April 2009 to support the Victorian Governments Future Coasts Project.

  • Dataset containing an indication of the geographic extent covered by each current Coastal Action Plan identified in 'Table 2: Coastal Action Plan Status', of the Victorian Coastal Council’s 2010-11 Annual Report. The dataset contains attributes identifying the report title, year of the report, Coastal Board region, unique identifier assigned to report, link that allows the report to be directly referenced, and link to source website page used to locate and obtain document. To support the capture of a suitable geographic extent covered by Coastal Plans each plan was reviewed and categorised in terms of the area it covered. For plans covering a local government area, Catchment Management Authority, Coastal Management Board area, or township, a nominal buffer was applied around the spatial extent of these administrative units. For reports containing a clear study area, this boundary was captured and used to depict the geographical area covered by the report.

  • Dataset containing boating area precincts identified by Victorian Regional Coastal Boards in their latest Boating Coastal Action Plans. The precincts are represented as a line based on VMSH_Framework.

  • Victorian state-wide dataset containing information on natural features at each ocean beach relating to the surf zone and hydrology, beach system or type, dominant shoreline geology and beach presence. The dataset includes surf zone data on rip currents, swash gradient, tidal range (neap and spring), modal wave height, dominant swell direction and wave frequency. This dataset has been adapted from the Australian Beach Safety and Management Program (ABSAMP) 1999, joined with the VicCoastline 2008 dataset and the geology classified using the smartline coastal data segmentation dataset as produced in the Australian Coastal Geomorphic and Stability Mapping Project.

  • Victorian state-wide dataset containing all ocean beach adminstration information including Committees of Management (COM) and Local Government Authorities (LGA) names, nearest town, tenure id and parcel spi. Dataset has been created using the Australian Beach Safety and Management Program (ABSAMP) beach location data combined with Vicmap Property Parcel Polygons (PARCEL_MP) and the DELWP owned land management text database

  • This polygon layer represents marine habitat in the East Gippsland region mapped from satellite imagery and aerial photography with underwater video ground-truthing. The mapping was funded by Natural Heritage Trust to increase the capacity of natural resource managers to make informed decisions regarding asset identification, risk assessment, and management action targets for nearshore marine habitats in the region.

  • Victorian state-wide dataset containing facilities at all ocean beaches, in addition to assessing the nature and level of physical beach hazards at each beach, and thereby the level of public risk and safety. Facilities are indicated as present (true= T) or absent (false= F) and include bbq, picnic areas, phone, shops, showers, swimming pool, toilets and water. Beach safety is indicated by a hazard rating score (0-10) based on the physical characteristics of the beach that could impact on public swimming safety. The beach name is also denoted. The data outputs were identified in the Australian Beach Safety and Management Program (ABSAMP) undertaken jointly by Surf Life Saving Australia (SLCA) and the Coastal Studies Unit (CSU) of the University of Sydney in late 1999.

  • This layer contains line features for depth contours (bathymetry) in Port Phillip Bay.

  • Aerial imagery to identify seagrass, reef and sediment habitat distributions for various marine habitat mapping projects across Victoria between 1997 to 2011 which have been subsumed into the Statewide Marine Habitat Map 2021.
